Vet the Vote and EAC Celebrate National Poll Worker Recruitment Day in New Orleans

Vet the Vote, in partnership with the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC), hosted a National Poll Worker Recruitment Day event at the National WWII Museum. This event brought together veterans, military families, and local civic leaders to honor the service of those who continue to serve by working at the polls on Election Day.

The event recognized veterans and military families for their crucial role in ensuring fair and secure elections. It highlighted their contributions to local communities, celebrated their commitment to civic service, and encouraged ongoing engagement.

Louisiana Secretary of State Nancy Landry emphasized the critical importance of poll workers, saying, "Poll workers play a pivotal role in ensuring election security and promoting civic engagement, and there is no population more equipped for this role than our honored veterans and military family community."

EAC Chairman Donald Palmer echoed the call to service, emphasizing the shared mission between poll workers and U.S. veterans to protect our electoral process at the local level.
Lorén Westerfield of Vet the Vote celebrated the collaboration with local election officials and the EAC, noting that veterans and military families bring mission-driven focus, leadership, and exceptional skills to ensure efficient and accurate elections.

Vet the Vote continues its national effort to recruit poll workers from the veteran and military family community, promoting continued service while strengthening election administration across the country.
