Ada County Elections has earned the first-ever Gold Award from Vet the Vote which highlights that at least 30% of local poll workers in Ada County are military veterans or military family members.
Vet the Vote is a national campaign aimed at registering veterans and their families to serve as the next generation of poll workers on election day across the country. According to Vet the Vote, the organization has recruited over 163,500 veterans and military family members to serve as poll workers in their local jurisdictions, with a veteran or military family member signing up in four out of every five zip codes nationwide
since 2022.
With the support of veterans and military families, the democratic process continues to be strengthened while also providing veterans and their families with meaningful opportunities to continue their service to the nation in a different capacity.
“We are incredibly thankful for the many local military veterans and family members who sign up to serve as poll workers in Ada County and serve Ada County citizens on Election Day,” Ada Clerk Trent Tripple said. “As a veteran myself, I understand the desire to continue to serve your country in meaningful ways and this just further highlights the role veterans, and their families, play in our country."
